I must begin my blog by explaining what I do for a living. Though I have been a literary manager for many years, representing clients in the US, UK, Europe and Australia, I have decided to take a back seat to the business of entertainment and focus on the birthplace of it, the creative world. As a career, nothing gives me more pleasure than reading something good, or even something not so good and helping figure out how to make it better. I love to brainstorm on ideas of how to market and promote but none of that works if the material, whether it be a screenplay, TV pilot of book manuscript is in the best possible shape. My job as consultant at Highstreet Management is so make sure you get the best help possible in presenting your best work possible. I love what I do and I am good at it, therefore, I love it even more.
I would be remiss in having a blog without some self-promotion at the get go, before we get to the entertainment and educational aspects. I AM FOR HIRE. I work independently for a few companies, critiquing various materials and I work on a freelance basis as well. I can give you expert advice from someone who has sold projects all over the world in every medium for over 20 years. I can do it rather quickly, with appropriate detail and a follow up discussion to hammer out any questions or clarify any points.
I touch on story, characters, structure and craft as well as saleability, marketing and the business of Hollywood and beyond and where, if at all, your material might fit. I am kind but I do not bullshit. It doesn’t help you and it works against who I want to be. I want to help you. I want you to succeed and I want to feel good and creative while doing so.
If you find yourself in need of screenplay (or other) consultation, please leave me a message here in the comments section and I will get back to you. My rates are very reasonable and I have excellent references. I am happy to share my knowledge and experience with you and help you become the best you can be.
